The film What Lies Below premieres on Dec. 4th, with music by Gavin Keese. The sci-fi thriller was directed by Braden Duemmler and stars Mena Suvari (American Beauty) and Ema Horvath (The Lord of the Rings). Gavin’s score employs a unique blend of synthetic and acoustic instruments, including a custom palette of instruments submerged in water.

The documentary Generation Growth will premiere at the Heartland Film Festival in October. Director Mu Sun’s feature film debut explores the difficulties of raising healthy children in low-income areas, and the incredible success of an indoor gardening curriculum that is helping to change those norms. Gavin’s score for the film blends a wide array of musical styles, from funk to hip-hop to bluegrass.
In the Life of Music is now available on Amazon and other streaming services. The film tells the story of how the song ‘Champa Battambang’, made famous by Sinn Sisamouth, plays a role in the lives of three different generations. Gavin composed a Cambodian-themed score for the film, directed by Caylee So and Sok Visal.
Blindspot returns with it’s final season on May. 7th on NBC. Gavin has been composing additional music for the last few seasons of the show, which is co-scored by composers Blake Neely and Sherri Chung.
Gavin is currently composing additional music with Bear McCreary’s music team for Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D“. The score features a driving mix of electronica and live orchestra. Season 4 returns with its final arc on April 4th.
The seventh season of The Walking Dead premieres on Oct. 23rd. Gavin has been contributing additional music to the post-apocalyptic drama, scored by Emmy-winning composer Bear McCreary.
